All in-person tutoring takes place at our workspace in the Galleries Building on Tantalus Road

All of our tutors will offer in-person tutoring using our  professional set up of 6 private desks.

We maintain vigilance as Covid still appears in our community  -  frequent handwashing, disinfectant, surface cleaning, and ventilation.

Also, we will limit to 4 desks tutoring at one time in our office to maintain good space between students and tutors.

Rick Smith

Owner and proud tutor at Squamish Tutoring! With a BA in Mathematics and MEd in Education, Rick has been teaching something for most of his life. He still enjoys working with teens, especially through tutoring Math 9, 10, 11, and 12.

Matt

Matt joined our tutoring team part way through last year, and worked students in Chemistry 12, Precal 12, and Precal 11.  We are delighted to have Matt back with us this year, starting in October, after he finishes a brief outside contract with his former University.  Welcome back Matt!

Loraine

Loraine joined our team near the end of last school year.  Loraine has a strong background in physics from her home country of Chile.  She began by helping 2 students to complete their Physics 11 course online, and will also work with Physics 12 this year.   We are pleased to welcome Loraine back to us for the full year this year!

Jaspreet

Jaspreet joins us for her first year at Squamish Tutoring.  Jaspreet has a strong background in mathematics from her home country of India.  Her mathematical skills are strong and she has worked hard to read up on BC curriculum over the summer.  Jaspreet will start with Math 10 tutoring and will shift quickly into the senior grades of Math 11 and 12.  Welcome Jaspreet!

Kate

Kate starts her sixth year with Squamish Tutoring!  Kate raised her family in Squamish, and still works full time  at Squamish Library.  Kate has become our "expert" at tutoring Math 8, and 9 and parents have raved about their kids' improved grades after working with her. After guiding her first student through Math 10 last year, Kate will be taking on more Math 10 students.  She is enjoying this challenge!

Cathy

We have been fortunate in keeping Cathy on our staff for another year.  After moving to Squamish 4 years ago with her husband, Cathy has had to balance many demands - part time work for UBC, consulting work, tending to family duties, and of course a life full of activity in Squamish.  Cathy loves to tutor Chemistry, but also excels in her work with students in Math 10 and 11.

Uthpala

We are fortunate to welcome Uthpala back after her first successful year with us last year.  Uthpala brings experience from teaching math in Sri Lanka to work with our junior level students, Grades 7, 8, 9.  She is excited to be back again, and we hope to expand her availability this year!
